Description
Organic Pumpkin Seed Powder
Pumpkin seed powder is a relatively new ingredient to the diets of health-conscious consumers. We obtain it following our cold-pressed oil extraction process and lightly grind and dry it before freshly vacuum packing it.
The powder has a deliciously green appearance and definite pumpkin taste. Most often, consumption of this powder is recommended for those wishing to increase Zinc ingestion.
Pumpkin powder also contains the anti-oxidant nutrient of Vitamin E, however in a complex form, meaning that it contains both tocopherol and tocotrienol forms.
As with all powders, it can be used as an additive in a muffin, cookie, or bread mixes; sprinkled into cereals, porridges, or ice-cream; included in smoothies.
Health & Nutrition
Pumpkin seed powder contains a unique and wide variety of anti-oxidants from the diverse mix of Vitamin E forms, zinc, and manganese through to a range of phenolic acids and lignans. These nutrients have been shown to combine with certain proteins to provide both antimicrobial and anti-viral benefits. Thanks again to the potential reduction in oxidative stress, these unique combinations of anti-oxidants, particularly the lignans, have provided preliminary evidence as possible cancer risk reduction agents in certain cancers.
